Brief introduction of the characteristics and uses of magnesium brick
Magnesium brick is an alkaline refractory material, which has a strong resistance to alkaline slag, but cannot resist the erosion of acidic slag. At 1600 ° C, it can react with silicon brick, clay brick and even high alumina brick. The fire resistance of magnesia brick is above 2000 ℃, but its load softening point is only 1500 ~ 1550 ℃. Moreover, the temperature interval from the beginning of softening to 40% deformation is very small, and the thermal stability of magnesium bricks at only 30-50 ° C is also poor, which is an important reason for the damage of magnesium bricks. The magnesia bricks produced by the company are basic refractory products which are calcined with ordinary magnesia as raw materials and calcined as the main crystal image. The product has high mechanical strength at high temperature, good slag resistance, strong erosion resistance, high load softening point, and stable volume at high temperature. It is mainly used in the furnace bottom and furnace wall of steelmaking alkaline open hearth furnaces and electric furnace converters.

International standards stipulate that alkaline products with MgO ≥ 80 are magnesium bricks. Magnesium bricks are classified into three grades according to MgO content; 90/95 and 98. According to different production processes, magnesium bricks are further divided into fired magnesium bricks, unfired magnesium bricks, and re-magnesium bricks. Magnesia bricks are refractory bricks made of fused magnesia and sintered magnesia at high temperatures. Magnesia bricks are of high quality and low price, and enjoy a high reputation in domestic and foreign markets.
Magnesium brick characteristics:
Magnesium bricks have a fire resistance of more than 2000, and the softening temperature under load varies greatly with the melting point of the cementitious phase and the number of liquid phases produced at high temperatures. The general softening starting temperature of magnesium brick is between 1520-1600, while that of pure magnesium brick is as high as 1800.
Magnesium brick use:
Magnesia bricks are widely used in steelmaking furnace linings, ferroalloy furnaces, and iron-mixing furnaces in the iron and steel industry because of their high-temperature performance and strong resistance to metallurgical slag. Glass industry heat storage cell grid and civil heat exchangers; high-temperature calcining kiln for refractory industry, such as high-temperature shaft kiln for calcined magnesia, high-temperature tunnel kiln for firing alkaline refractory bricks, etc.
