Dense Zircon Brick Used In Glass Furnace

Zircon brick is used in the junction of the upper structure of glass furnace, such as arch angle brick and corner brick. Zircon brick generates a high viscosity layer when it is used as bottom lining brick, and it can reduce the perforation erosion of metallic bodies by “dense effect”.

Both particle structure and combination between particles have an influence on the erosion resistance of zircon brick. Zircon brick is mainly used in the position of glass furnace which contacts the glass liquid directly, glass fiber of less than 5% melting alkali and all kinds of borate glass. Glass with high content of alkali will promote the decomposition of zircon brick which will be decomposed into ZrO2 and SiO2. SiO2 is preferentially dissolved by glass and generated zirconia particles.
 
Dense zircon brick can be divided into two types. While the closed air hole rate of super dense zircon brick is 6%, in fact the porosity rate is almost zero. The porosity rate of dense zircon brick is about 14% and most are open porosity. super dense zircon brick always uses TiO2 as its sintering aid.
