Typical Refractory Bricks Related To Zircon

As mentioned in last news, zircon is an important material in refractory world, especially in recent years, zircon has attracted considerable attention as a high-technology material for industrial applications, because of its superior mechanical, thermal, electrical, chemical and optical properties. Zircon related refractory bricks take high purity zircon as main raw material with fused corundum, mullite and high purity binder added, and produced with high pressure and high temperature. With the features of anti-erosion, resistance to washing and bigger strength, Zircon refractory bricks are mainly used in the key positions of glass furnace. Below are some typical bricks related to zircon, they are zircon brick, dense zircon brick, high dense zircon brick, fused cast AZS block and zircon-mullite brick.

 

Zircon brick is refractory product made of natural zircon. It has the advantages of strong slag resistance, high mechanical strength, high refractoriness under load, large abrasive resistance and excellent thermal shock stability, it is an important material for furnace construction in the industries, such as metallurgy, building materials and electronics, It is usually used in regenerator chamber, bottom part and side wall. Zircon brick can especially be used as superstructure bricks of flame space and bottom bricks of glass furnace in glass industry. 
 

Compared with zircon brick, dense zircon brick and high dense zircon block ,with more zircon content than zircon brick, are characterized by high bulk density, low apparent porosity, mechanical strength, excellent stability of thermal shocking and resistance to corrosion of glass liquid under load, which are mainly used for soda-lime glass kiln, channel blocks as well as sidewall of glass fiber kilns and floating glass tanks. They are Widely applied to the upper area of flame space and frequent thermal shock region of alkali-free or low-alkali glass, sodium-calcium glass, boron-silicate glass, lead glass and other technical glass melting furnace.

 

Fused cast AZS block is made from pure alumina powder and Zircon sand, and through casting technology which is by melting the material into liquid, and then pouring the liquid material into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify, then through cleaning and inspection. With the features of dense structure, high temperature performance, Strong glass corrosion resistance, high thermal shock stability and many formats and shapes, Fused Cast AZS block is mainly applied to melting glass furnace such as superstructure, working pool side wall, paving blocks, feeder channels, tank bottoms, C-shaped block and doghouse crown, front wall, back wall, electric block corners, etc.

 

Zircon mullite brick selected high quality mullite sand and zircon powder as its main raw material. Molded by high pressure and sintered by high temperature, the zircon-mullite brick has such advantages as high bulk density, high strength, good thermal shock resistance, high temperature erosion resistance and good slag resistance. It is mainly used in long-life orifice rings, tank bottom, tank superstructure, perfume-bottle feeder, covers for working tanks and soda lime glass.
